Project Pitchfork – Lost Youth Of A Prisoner

Time for some nostalgia: In the nineties, I discovered the band Project Pitchfork. Being a trend setter within the gothic/wave scene for many years, their avant-garde mix of EBM and darkwave with its fresh and creative sound is still an important influence to this day. Unfortunately, their first albums were extremely lacking production quality. They even misused headphones as microphones (yes, it does work the other way round, too) on their first album, because of a very tight budget.
With the possibilities available to even the smallest home studios, all of this would sound way different today – maybe like my remake of Lost Youth Of A Prisoner, a song taken from their debut album Dhyani.
A Happy Song

This instrumental was made for a wedding photographer who accompanies couples on their wedding day, making pictures of the complete happening. Afterwards he compiles them into a DVD slideshow for which he needed some background music. Fun fact: To this day, this is my only composition written in major key, hence the song title.
Thanks to Daniel Ruppert for playing the guitar.

I love film music! Thus, I gave myself the challenge to score this action scene of a Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix which originally doesn’t feature any music. The goal was to create music that equals the quality of the picture. Did I succeed? Well, listen for yourself…

And another film score… This time it’s a more quiet, dialog heavy scene. The sound design and style of music is inspired by the original soundtrack written by John Murphy. A lot of the sounds were processed with filters and distortion to give them a worn-out and brittle texture.

The Hellegance used to be annual Halloween party. The resident DJ approached me to compose an intro for the event which should seamlessly transition into the opening song Dance With Me (Sebastian Komor Remix) by Alphaville.
Space Dreams

In the nineties, the Space Night was the night program of the Bavarian TV station, showing satellite pictures of earth that were underscored with ambient and lounge music. During that time, this music was a strong influence and Space Dreams was a direct result of that.
Serenity

It’s time to go way back, when everything started. Serenity was probably my third or fourth composition, at all, dating back to the year 1998. The version you are listening to right now, was completely redone from scratch, of course.
